Shell Companies in Nigeria Country Chair, Elohor Aiboni, has been honoured with the Daily Times DTN@100 Changemaker Award.
She received the award at the newspaper’s centenary celebration held at Harbour Point, Lagos recently, a statement said on Wednesday.
The award was part of activities marking 100 years of Daily Times, which began publication in 1926.
Receiving the award, Aiboni advocated concerted efforts to educate the Nigerian girl-child, saying the development is key to reshaping the country’s future.
She added: “If we are serious about shaping Nigeria’s future, we must be equally serious about educating and empowering the Nigerian girl child.
“Education provides not only knowledge, but also confidence, choice and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to her community and country.”
Aiboni was among 100 distinguished Nigerians honoured with the DTN@100 Award as part of activities marking 100 years of Daily Times, which started publication in 1926. The centenary theme is “Honouring the Past, Shaping the Future.”

Aiboni, who joined Shell in 2002, is the first female Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) and the first female and Nigerian to serve as Executive Vice President and Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria.
Responding to the honour, she dedicated the award to colleagues across Shell Companies in Nigeria, partners and those she has worked with over the years.
She said: “Although this award is presented to me, I do not regard it as mine alone. I share it with my colleagues across the Shell Companies in Nigeria, our partners, and the many people I have had the privilege of working with and learning from over the years.”
