The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi, has said that he will adopt a community-driven approach to tackling insecurity by involving residents of affected areas of the state
He spoke on Tuesday while featuring on Arise Television Programme, ‘ Good ‘Morning Show’ , where he also announced plans to strengthen the state security outfit, Amotekun, for improved efficiency.
The personnel, he added, would be recruited directly from local communities to support conventional security agencies.
He also said his government would work with other local and recognised security organisations to ensure adequate security for the people of the state.
He would adopt a holistic approach to solve the problem of insecurity in the state, particularly in Oke-Ogun axis.
According to the governorship hopeful, there were many people that are not accounted for and without proper data that are living in the affected communities.
He hinted that if wins the guber race, his government would ensure proper identification and collection of data of such people and their daily activities to give room for monitoring.
He added that his administration would partner with the necessary stakeholders like the traditional institution, religious bodies among others to properly secure the lives and property of the people.
