Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Adamawa Central and former APC National Vice Chairman (North East), has carved a distinctive political identity rooted in human capital development and community engagement.
His politics is not merely about winning elections or distributing money for votes; it is about building people, strengthening communities, and creating lasting socioeconomic impact.
One of the defining features of Comrade Salihu’s political philosophy is his unwavering investment in people. Over the years, his youth empowerment and support programmes have transformed the lives of countless sons and daughters of ordinary families.
Through his widely acknowledged empowerment initiative, he has provided ₦1 million each to numerous individuals as seed capital to establish or expand businesses, pursue education, engage in agriculture, and build sustainable livelihoods.
Among his interventions, he empowered 37 young leaders with ₦1 million each, supported 65 women and youths with ₦500,000 each, and provided lifeline grants to more than 1,780 micro-entrepreneurs across Adamawa State.
These initiatives reflect a deliberate commitment to economic empowerment, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship rather than dependency.
Today, Comrade Salihu has expanded his intervention beyond individual empowerment to community-focused development projects. Recognising the challenges posed by the rainy season, he has undertaken the clearing and reconstruction of drainage systems in vulnerable communities.
One of the beneficiaries is Rumde Ward in Yola North Local Government Area, his home ward, where residents are already benefiting from improved drainage infrastructure designed to reduce flooding and protect lives and property.
This transition from investing solely in individuals to investing in community infrastructure demonstrates a broader vision of development. It underscores his belief that sustainable political leadership should improve both the economic wellbeing of citizens and the physical environment in which they live.
Comrade Mustapha Salihu remains one of the APC’s most deeply rooted grassroots politicians in Adamawa Central. His political strength is anchored not merely in party structures but in longstanding personal relationships with party faithful, traditional and community leaders, professionals, youth groups, women, and other critical stakeholders across the senatorial district.
Having built his political profile through years of consistent engagement, accessibility, and organisational leadership, he commands an organic support base that has remained resilient over time. His extensive network spans all local government areas in Adamawa Central, positioning him to effectively mobilise voters and consolidate support for the APC.
In an era when politics is often reduced to transactional relationships, Comrade Mustapha Salihu offers a different model—one centred on human capital development, grassroots engagement, and tangible community development.
His approach demonstrates that sustainable politics is not about handing out money for votes; it is about empowering people, developing communities, and leaving a lasting legacy of progress.
