Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested 25 youths in Argungu town over alleged involvement in immoral acts.
The Director of Shariah, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
He said the raid was carried out on July 3 at a hotel in Argungu.
He said those arrested include 12 males and 13 females.
He explained that the operation is part of the board’s efforts to fight social vices, promote moral values, and maintain peace in Kebbi.
He confirmed that the suspects are currently in Hisbah custody.
He hinted that the board would conduct a thorough investigation in accordance with the law, and anyone found culpable would face the appropriate legal process.
He added that the raid in the hotel seeks to ensure the safety of people as hotels can also serve as hiding place for criminal elements even as he assured that justice will be served after through investigations.
