Ibadan Kidnap: Police Investigate Abduction Of Ex-Minister Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons

The Oyo State Police Command has opened investigations into the abduction of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke and her twin sons, relatives of ex-Minister of Power, who were seized by gunmen in Ibadan on Wednesday.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command confirmed the incident and assured residents that efforts were underway to secure the safe rescue of the victims.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State has directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Challenge Division, alongside other tactical teams, to proceed to the scene of the incident after receiving the report.

The police said that the victims’ vehicle had been recovered, while intensive investigations and search operations had commenced to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims unharmed.

“The Oyo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the abduction of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke and her twin sons, who were reportedly abducted earlier today,” the statement read.

The Command further assured the public that all necessary resources had been deployed to facilitate the rescue operation and ensure that those responsible for the crime are apprehended and brought to justice.

The Police Command urged residents to remain calm, law-abiding and cooperative by providing credible information that could assist security agencies in their efforts to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators.

DSP Olayinka reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, assuring residents that updates would be provided as investigations progress.
