A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday sentenced former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman to 75 years in prison after finding him guilty of N33.8 billion fraud.
Mamman was convicted on all 12 counts brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The EFCC accused him of diverting and laundering funds meant for critical power sector projects during his time as minister.
Delivering judgment, the court said the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. The judge handed down a cumulative 75-year jail term.
The EFCC charged Mamman over large-scale financial misconduct involving billions of naira in public funds.
