The African Democratic Congress has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, pegging its presidential nomination form at N100 million.
Governorship forms will cost N50 million, Senate N20 million, House of Representatives N10 million, and State House of Assembly N3 million, the party said Sunday in Abuja made available to newsmen.
National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi said the timetable shows ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and compliance with electoral guidelines.
Application forms are available from April 1 to May 4, 2026. Sale of nomination forms runs May 5–10, with submission due May 11–13.
Aspirant screening holds May 14–15. Results will be published May 17. Appeals run May 18–19, and the final list of cleared aspirants drops May 20, the statement quoted.
According to the statement, primaries for State Houses of Assembly, House of Reps, and Senate seats will hold simultaneously at ward level on May 21. Governorship primaries are set for May 22, and the presidential primary for May 25.
The National Executive Committee meets May 26. A Special National Convention for final ratification holds May 27.
To encourage wider participation, ADC approved concessions: 50% discount for youths and 25% for women and persons with disabilities.
Abdullahi implored members, stakeholders, and aspirants to comply strictly with the schedule and guidelines as the party positions itself as a platform for competent, accountable leadership in 2027.
