Disability Community Honours Dr. Seun Osamaye For Championing Inclusive Leadership

Members of the disability community in Ondo State have conferred an Award of Excellence on the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, in recognition of her exemplary leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the welfare and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the state.

The award was presented during a meeting held at the Commissioner’s office, where leaders of the disability community gathered to discuss pressing issues affecting PWDs and explore practical ways of strengthening collaboration with the Ministry for improved welfare, empowerment, and inclusion.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Hon. Omomofe Koledoye, led a delegation of leaders from the disability community. 

The delegation expressed their deep appreciation to the Commissioner for her motherly approach, open-door policy, and dedication to addressing the concerns of persons living with disabilities across Ondo State.

The community leaders described Dr. Osamaye as a true ally and compassionate mother, whose leadership has brought renewed hope and dignity to many persons with disabilities.

 They commended her for the sincerity, diligence, and empathy she has demonstrated in handling matters relating to the welfare and development of PWDs.

The disability community also commended the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his passion, commitment, and special attention to disability inclusion in governance.

 According to them, the Governor’s administration has shown encouraging signs of inclusiveness, giving persons with disabilities greater confidence in the government’s commitment to protecting their rights and promoting their welfare.

Congratulating Dr. Osamaye on the honour, the leaders prayed for greater wisdom, strength, and continued success in her service to the people of Ondo State.

 They also offered prayers for the continued progress and success of the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa, expressing hope that the government will sustain and expand policies that promote the full inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities.

The disability community reaffirmed its readiness to continue working in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the Ondo State Government to advance policies and programmes that will improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities in the state.
