One of the hottest topics in Nigeria’s and Adamawa’s political space today is whether or not Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is defecting to the APC or any other political parties
If Fintiri defects to the APC; or to any political party; what exactly is he bringing to the table?
Value
Every serious political party is thirsty for leadership that carries not only personal value but mass value. If Fintiri defects to the APC, he is bringing with him real, organic votes, people, not just promises.
He is bringing something tangible to show the masses: visible development across every socio-economic sector of Adamawa State. Every political party desperately needs such a face, one that represents performance, credibility, delivery and the masses first.
He is bringing a full-fledged government structure:
• A well-read and calm Deputy Governor
• 24 carefully selected vibrant Commissioners
• 40 Senior Special Advisers
• 40 Principal Special Assistants
These are not just appointees; they are stakeholders in their various communities with grassroots connections and political relevance.
• Numerous Special Assistants; young men and women doing wonderfull jobs
He is bringing:
• 21 Local Government Councils, with their Chairmen and Vice Chairmen
• 226 Political Wards, with their Councillors and Supervisory Councillors
He is bringing:
3 Senators and 5 House of Representatives members who have gone through the mills of politics
• 16 politically active state Legislators and their supporters, with speaker, deputy speaker and leadership of the State Assembly
Fintiri is bringing critical stakeholders from all 21 local governments and their communities.
He is bringing a functional, strong, and well-structured political party machinery:
• Over 36 State Executives and Zonal Executives
• Over 560 LGA Executives
• Over 6,000 Ward Executives
In essence, Fintiri is bringing a complete political structure and a movement that have history of bringing value and results
He is bringing governance and tested political leadership. In six years in office, Fintiri has managed the Adamawa PDP without rancor or disloyalty. He is running an effective and stable government without controversy or scandal.
Fintiri is also bringing a solid bloc vote, one he has maintained since his entry into politics and steadily expanding it particularly from 2019 to date.
He is bringing critical stakeholders from each of the 226 political wards in Adamawa State.
Fintiri is bringing organic love from the masses , and that love consistently translates into votes.
Fintiri is bringing to the table everything and anything a serious political party wants and needs.
So why are some people making noise? Why the fear?:
One: Envy, but leadership and political power; there is no envy, because it’s a gift from the Almighty God!
Two: The fear that Fintiri’s value will expose and possibly dismantle their transactional politics.
First-rate politicians love value addition. They embrace strength when they see it – kuwa naso ne !
That is why, during the ongoing LGA tour, in the six LGAs visited so far, the message from the masses to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri remains loud and clear: “Kafanka, Kafanmu!”
