Joseph Oyewole Becomes Supreme Court Justice

The Senate has confirmed President Bola Tinubu’s nomination of Justice Joseph Olubunmi Kayode Oyewole for appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The action was sequel to the consideration of the report of its Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, chaired by Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire (APC Ondo Central) during plenary on Tuesday.

Senator Adegbonmire said Justice Oyewole, who presented the report during his screening performed well by answering all questions intelligently and therefore recommended his confirmation for the prestigious office.

The Senate unanimously approved the committee’s report and confirmed the nomination of Justice Oyewole as a Supreme Court Justice.

The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio congratulated the nominee and charged him to do justice to all and sundry irrespective of circumstances.

He also commended the chairman of the chairman and members of the committee for the speedy manner in which they carried out this assignment.”

He congratulated President Tinubu for finding eligible mind that had made it possible for the Senate to collectively and unanimously endorse Justice Oyewole’s nomination as a Justice of the Supreme Court.

He expressed believe that through the new JSC and others already there, justice would be served to the common man including senators in the country.
