The National Vice Chairman (North East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, PhD, Esq, Sa’in Adamawa, led the reception of Abubakar Atiku Abubakar, popularly known as Abba, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, into the ruling party.
The event took place at the office of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, at the National Assembly Complex.
Other APC stakeholders present included a Presidential aide and APC chieftain, Alhaji Mahmoud Abdullahi, elder statesman Malam Hamza Darma, among others.
Abubakar Atiku Abubakar (Abba) officially announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared his full commitment and support to the APC and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2027.
Speaking at the event, Abba said:“My name is Abubakar Atiku Abubakar, but everyone calls me Abba. I am here today to formally announce my exit from my former party the PDP and my decision to join the APC.
“With this development, I will work closely with all stakeholders to actualise the second-term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. I am also directing all coordinators and members of my organisation, Haske Atiku Association, now Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation, to join the APC and work towards the President’s second-term bid.”
In his remarks, Comrade Mustapha Salihu described the development as a significant boost for the APC, noting that it would further strengthen the party’s efforts toward securing President Tinubu’s second term, while also consolidating the party’s position in the North East and Adamawa State.
