The police has dismissed rape allegations against Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo on account of lack of credible evidence by the complainant.
One Mrs Zainab Mohammed, in a petition to the Inspector General of Police, accused the former lawmaker of raping Khadija Mohamned in his Katampe Extension Abuja residence on Sunday 29th June, 2025.
Sequel to the allegations the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) gender unit, National Cyber crime centre, intelligence tactical unit ( ITU), and medical unit were on the order of the IGP tasked with investigating the allegations.
A report of the investigation signed by DCP Oki Rita Oyintare of the FCID and dated 23rd October 2025 reads : “After an extensive investigation in this case, it was discovered that the essential elements of this offence are lacking as a result of the time frame between the date of the commission of the alleged offence and the time it was reported for police investigation.
“That scene of crime/execution of search warrant was conducted on 3rd October 2025, but unfortunately, all ingredients to support the offence were not seen probably because of the time frame from 29th June, 2025 to 3rd October, 2025.
“That the survivor was taken to Deda Hospital by the parents on 10th July 2025, and the case was reported to the Police officially on 15th September, 2025.
“The medical report from Deda Hospital dated 11th July 2025 indicates that the survivor hymen was not breached. Meaning the alleged victim is still a virgin as of 10th July 2025 about 11 days after the alleged rape.
“That the complainant tried to preserve vital documents from Nafisi’s phone by seizing her phone but because she also
failed to submit the phone to the police for forensic analysis, she found out later that the phone had been flashed and there was no trace of the document any longer.
“That Patience Jesse was the person who opened the door for Nafisa and Khadija on 29th June, 2025, when they arrived at the Senator’s house. She did not witness any rape of the survivor.
“The alleged incident is said to have occurred on Sunday 29th June, 2025 at about 1400hrs – 1600hr in the Katampe House of Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo.
“That the security man at the gate, Patience Jesse, Nafisa Mohammed and Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo were the only persons at home during the time of visitation by Khadija and Nafisa. All the three said there was no rape.
“That Senator Abbo had on 30th June, 2025 , accused Khadija Mohammad and Nafisa Mohammed Chigli of stealing his wife’s gold jewelry. That Senator Abbo officially reported the matter at Dawaki Police Station on 16th July, 2025.
“That Deda Hospital result indicates that the hymen is intact, while the screening test for hepatitis ‘B’ and ‘C’,syphilis and HIV were negative.
“That nothing incriminating was found during visit to scene of alleged crime and execution of search in the house and premises of the suspect on 3/10/2025.”
Senator Abbo said that he had no comments as God is the rewarder of good or evil deeds.
