All the 38 abducted worshippers of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Kwara State have been freed from terrorists den.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), confirmed this in a statement on Sunday.
He described the successful rescue as a direct outcome of President Bola Tinubu’s hands-on, no-nonsense approach to national security.
President Tinubu, he said, had personally taken charge of the situation from the moment news of the attack broke, even cancelling his scheduled trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to coordinate responses to security breaches in both Kwara and Kebbi States.
The President’s intervention triggered intensified joint operations, with four new tactical teams of the Nigeria Police deployed to Kwara and additional reinforcements drawn from the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Intelligence Agency.
The freed abductees were rescued earlier on Sunday bringing to an end a nerve-wracking ordeal that had kept families and the wider state on edge.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for his decisive leadership.
He also commended security agencies, community leaders, religious institutions, and concerned citizens whose support proved invaluable throughout the crisis.
