I’ll Uphold Service, Justice-New Ohindase Of Okengwe

Alhaji Usman Ibrahim Okidi, the new Ohindase of Okengwe, has pledged to uphold the values of justice, unity, and service that define the office of the stool.

Odidi, who gave the pledge after receiving receiving the staff of office,  expressed gratitude to God, Governor Usman Ododo, the traditional council, and the people of Okengwe-Ehi for the confidence reposed in him. 

The Kogi State government announced the appointment of Alhaji Usman Ibrahim Okidi as the new Ohindase of Okengwe, following due consultation with relevant traditional authorities and community stakeholders.

Alh. Usman Okidi is a retired civil servant, teacher and community leader. 

The title “Ohindase” is one of the most respected traditional positions within the Ebira traditional institution, symbolizing wisdom, leadership, and community service. 

According to a statement, the Ohindase plays a vital role in preserving customs, promoting peace, and advising the traditional council on matters of heritage, governance, and social harmony.

His Royal Highness, Usman Ibrahim Okidi, was born on the 8th of October, 1960, into the  family of Alhaji  Usman Otinawu of the Omavi clan of Okene in Kogi State. 

He is a distinguished community leader and seasoned administrator with decades of service to humanity. 

Known for his humility, integrity, and commitment to development, he has been actively involved in several community-based initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, education, and cultural preservation.

A renowned teacher  and philanthropist, Alhaji Okidi has earned the respect and admiration of both the young and old within and beyond Okengwe. 

His appointment is widely seen as a recognition of his enduring contributions to the peace and progress of the Ebira land.
