Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the National Vice Chairman (Northeast) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has empowered young people in Adamawa State with financial support aimed at strengthening grassroots development.
Penultimate week, Salihu pledged to launch the initiative in September, beginning with five beneficiaries who would each receive ₦1 million.
The first phase of disbursement has now been completed, and will expand in October to cover ten beneficiaries, with further increases planned in the coming months.
Another set of young people have also received N500,000 each,apart from the initial ₦1 million per youth.
Speaking during the unveiling of the scheme, Comrade Salihu, explained that the youth empowerment program is designed for hardworking and dedicated young people across Adamawa, giving them both recognition and resources to translate their efforts into tangible impact.
He emphasized that the initiative represents more than financial aid.
“This initiative is not just about financial support; it is about investing in the future, building loyalty, and giving our young people the tools they need to succeed. The APC believes in rewarding commitment and nurturing the next generation of leaders,” he said.
Community leaders, party stakeholders, and youth organizations commended tyr program,and described it as a historic and visionary step.
They highlighted its potential to inspire hope, strengthen unity, consolidate APC structures at the grassroots, reduce unemployment, encourage entrepreneurship, and foster social stability across Adamawa State and the Northeast.
They said the initiative reflects Comrade Salihu’s consistent commitment to youth development, social impact, and party growth.
They further said the empowerment scheme could serve as a model for other geopolitical zones, offering a new approach to how political leadership engages with young people in Nigeria.
