Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser, has insisted that Nigeria is safer and better under the leadership of President Tinubu.

He spoke on Wednesday in Abuja at the National Cyber Security Conference 2025, with theme: “Building a Resilient Digital Future”, where he also said the country is currently blessed with quality leadership .

He said:”Mr. President is a digital President and educated. Yes, he is very enlightened. He knows things.

“People under-estimate him at their own peril.Things are changing. We are stabilising things. Forget about what some people are saying.

“Nigeria is getting safer and better every single day. Our economy is stabilising. Things are getting better day by day.

“We have changed things. We are in control. We work with big telecom companies closely.

“Nigeria is safe, forget about these people who are talking nonsense.

“Niger Delta is safer than ever before. South East is beginning to be normal. Those who are creating problems there and are outside the country, we are going to jail them there.

“We will not allow the money they are sending to Nigeria.”

He criticised politicians, critics of the present administration, and urged them to have a rethink.

Ribadu, who took the critics and opposition politicians to the cleaners for non-recognition of the efforts of the present administration, described them as being “desperate, expired, outdated.”

He said:”We are working and getting results. Many people don’t recognise these.

“These are desperate, expired people, who believe that it is an entitlement for them to continue to be in the corridors of power.

“They think, it is their right to be in power, to be in our spaces. They go to Channels or Arise TV, they are shouting.

“They are out-dated. These are people who looted and plundered this country before, they believe in entitlement, that is for them to continue to do what they like.

“But Nigerians are wiser. They created problems–religious, ethnic, political problems. We are trying to address them, they should give us chance, please.”

He implored big telecom companies and foreign investors to invest in the country, adding that Nigeria is the future of Africa.

Speaking on the National Cyber Security Conference, Ribadu said building a resilient digital future was a call to action by all stakeholders.

He pointed out that a resilient digital future is not given, but rather it is consciously, collectively and effectively built.

He explained that public institutions, banks, schools, markets, among others, are targets of cyber attacks, adding that resilience is the bedrock of national security and economic stability.

He assured that decisive steps have been taken by his Office to strengthen cyber security, following the operationalisation of the National Cyber Crime Centre.
