Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister, Industries, Trade and Investment says the Federal Government tracked $50B in committed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in January 2025.
She also said that already tracking mechanism has been developed to ensure integration of the $50billion committed FDI from bilateral engagements and State visits in priority sectors.
She also stated that in February 2025 government developed investment profiles for Nine priority sectors, including agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, technology, tourism and hospitality, oil and gas, healthcare, critical minerals and manufacturing.
According to her, no fewer than 894 Medium Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMES) have received disbursements from the N50 billion Federal Government Intervention funds.
She disclosed these on Tuesday at the continued 2025 ministerial press briefing session hosted in Abuja, by the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
She further said programmes are underway to provide soft loan facilities to MSME’s across the 774 Local Governments of the Country through arrangements with First City Monument Bank (FCMB).
She further said that the Federal Government is currently carrying out major policy reforms including, tax form, pre-packaged label regulation, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reform and trade policy peview all initiated to boost the country’s economic growth, adding that the value of capital importation: currently stands at $|.3bn from 1.25 in previous quarter.
“894 MSMES have received disbursements from the 50b FGN intervention funds – loans lalue of capital importation: at $|.3bn from 1.25 previous quarter”, she added.
Earlier, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, described the 2025 budget as a strategic roadmap for economic resilience and national progress.
The Minister emphasized that this year will see tangible results from President Tinubu’s reforms, including a reduction in food prices and significant investments in security, infrastructure, education, and health.
