FG Gives IBEDC 7-Day Ultimatum To Recall 3,000 Sacked Workers

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) and its outsourcing firm to renegotiate recent sack of 3,000 workers in it’s employ.

The Oyo State Comptroller, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Igbinosun, gave the directive at the end of a meeting between the management of IBEDC, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the outsourcing firm, and representatives of the sacked staff.

According to him, resolving the issues within the time frame would strengthen the industrial harmony in the state.

In his remarks at the meeting, the Oyo State NLC Chairman, NLC, Kayode Martins, sack the  sack of  the workers did not follow due process.

He urged IBEDC and the outsourcing firm to reinstate the sacked workers during the renegotiation.

Responding, the representatives of IBEDC and the outsourcing firm promised to renegotiate the sacking of the workers within the time given by the Federal Government.
