The Chief Judge of Ondo state, Justice Olusegun Odusola, has turned down the request of the Assembly to constitute a 7-person investigation panel to investigate the deputy governor,Lucky Aiyedatiwa on allegations levelled against him.

Majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi told journalists in Akure that the Chief Judge wrote to the Assembly on the reason he could not honour the request of the Assembly.

Justice Odusola cited an exparte order granted and served on him by an Abuja Federal High Court presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, restraining him from constituting the panel.

The majority leader told journalists that the Assembly would surely follow due process and obey the laws of the land.

He declared that “we are going to follow the due process no matter how the hindrance may be.”

Ogunmolasuyi stated that section 188of the 1999 constitution as amended was explicit on the process for the impeachment of a governor or deputy governor of a state.

He insisted that the Assembly would not deviate from the dictates of the constitution on the impeachment process on Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
