The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has apologized to passengers and other airport users that witnessed the temporary power outage at Lagos Airport last Friday.

It attributed the last Friday’s power outage at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos to rain, which was accompanied with fierce winds and storms.
A statement by Mrs. Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze, the Ag. General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, said that the fierce winds and storms affected one of its feeders and consequently resulted in the disruption of power outage at the D Wing of the airport.
She said that the winds and storms were natural occurrence.
She added: “However, our engineers quickly discovered the fault, and liaised with the Ejigbo duty/area control office of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria and together resolved the problem. Normalcy has since been restored at the affected area.”
