The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN, has said that the recent reorganization in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was in order.
The IPMAN’s National President, Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo, lauded the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mele Kyari for such a giant stride which would encourage efficiency.
He also commended the federal government for earmarking $1.1billion for the rehabilitation of PortHarcout and Kaduna Refineries,adding the Federal Government’s plan in that direction would help in bringing back the two refineries to full operation.
He added that the development would improve petroleum products distribution in the country.
According to him, rehabilitating the refineries would further reduce over dependence on importation of petroleum products into Nigeria.
He expressed that the establishment of modular refineries in the county would also enhance petroleum distribution for socioeconomic development.
He advised the Federal Government to bring experts to continue to maintain the existing refineries in Nigeria for better performance.
