Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates LASU Governing Council

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday swore-in the chairman and members of the Lagos State University (LASU) Governing Council for effective administration of academic activities in the institution.
Speaking at  the event, Sanwo-Olu urged members of the new council to use their wealth of experience and the accomplishments in their various chosen professions to impact positively on the management, policy formulations and smooth running of the university.
The reconstituted LASU Governing Council has David Olabanji Adewale Sunmoni as Pro-chancellor and chairman; Prof. Adedamola Oke (Acting VC LASU) and Emmanuel Fanu (Acting Registrar LASU).
Tolagbe Taiwo, Moronke Williams, Tolani Sule, Dr. Hakeem Adetugbobo, Anuoluwapo Oladele Eso, Adebayo Akinsanya and Foluke Kafayat AbdulRazaq are members of the council.
Others include Prof. Shaffideen Adeniyi Amuwo (member)
Adenike Yomi-Faseun (member), Adekunle Soname (member), Karl Tokun Toriola (member) and Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii.
The governor, who urged them to consider their appointment and inauguration as a call to duty and service to your fatherland,’ said:”The only way you can justify the confidence reposed in you by the state government, is by working tirelessly to ensure that the existing peace and industrial harmony in the university is sustained and even improved upon.
“One of the key responsibilities of the Council, which require your urgent attention, is the activation of the process for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor for the university. In performing this responsibility, I urge you to be guided by the lessons from past events and ensure strict adherence to relevant laws, guidelines and procedures.”
Besides,Sanwo-Olu inaugurated the Board of Trustees for the J.K Randle Center for Yoruba History at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
The board has Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as (chairman), Sherifat Folashade Jaji (vice chairman), Adenike Adedoyin-Ajayi (secretary), Olubunmi Osiewu (treasurer), Polly Alakija, Euzebio Jide Damazio andAbdul Rafiu Adewale.
