 Nigeria,UAE Trade Volume Now  $1.25bn

Trade Volume between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates has risen to $1.25billion.
Ambassador Mariam Katagum,Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment who stated this at a media briefing on Dubai Expo 2020, said trading between Nigeria and UAE centres around non-oil products.
She  expressed optimism that both countries would improve their economic, socio- cultural and bilateral relations for mutual benefits.
Speaking  on the forthcoming Dubai EXPO 2020, Katagum said Nigeria is one of several countries which have benefited from the generosity of the UAE government by providing Nigeria with a $2m assisted pavilion.
She noted that the journey to Dubai EXPO 2020 started in 2013 when the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE) conferred the Hosting Right to the city of Dubai, UAE holding initially in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is scheduled from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022.
She noted that the global event is organised around a theme statement- “Connecting Minds, Creating the World”.
“The expo aims to connect and inspire millions of people from around the world to create a better future.
“It is also a platform for the world to showcase innovation, achievements and aspirations while exploring the three sub-themes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability,” she said.
