Workers of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, have shut down the institution over nonpayment of eight months backlog of salaries and alleged refusal of the management of the institution to promote workers in the last three years.
They alleged the Mr. Banji Alabi-led Governing Council and the Rector, Dr. Ogundahunsi of deliberately inflicting pains on them by not paying their eight months backlog of salaries and promoting those who were due for promotion for the past three years.
The embattled workers who displayed placards with various inscriptions, pleaded with Governor Akeredolu to wade into the crisis with a view to giving them hope in the institution.
